Kitty-litter Cake
By Rand E. Creitz
This is designed for a birthday party or other large group. Kids are fascinated
with it.
1 standard kitty-litter box, bought new, washed thoroughly and used only
for this recipe
1 pooper-scooper, same as litter box in handling directions
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN AND USE A LITTER BOX THAT HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN
USED!!!!!
1 white cake mix
1 spice cake or chocolate cake mix
1 pkg vanilla pudding mix
1 pkg butterscotch or chocolate pudding mix
Large container of whipped cream
1# bag of vanilla wafers, crushed into small
crumbs
10-12 small Tootsie-Rolls
Green food coloring
Prepare cake and pudding mixes according to directions and set aside. Cakes
need to be completely cooled and puddings well chilled.
Crumble cakes into litter box. Combine and add puddings, mixing gently, and
then mix in the whipped cream. Level the top and shake crushed vanilla
wafers over it evenly, reserving about 1 cup. In a zipper bag, shake remaining
crumbs with enough food color to saturate, sprinkling them over the top of
the rest of the crumbs (this will be the chlorophyll in the kitty litter).
Place the tootsie-rolls on a plate and microwave until just softened, but not
melted. Shape the tootsie rolls into facsimilies of
what a cat uses the box for and distribute around the top of the cake. Serve
with the pooper-scooper.
Be ready for a reaction!
Enjoy!
